Hot, humid and uncomfortable

Its been really hot and humid here today and I have been sticky and uncomfortable. Since we got back from our idyllic adventures I have done three loads of laundry, shopped, cooked and performed other domestic chores which were totally non-existant while we were away.

Little Princess announced this morning on her way out the door for school that she was going to the Airs Cliff (misspelling intentional) Fair with a friend, and she would not likely be back before Sunday. Excuse me, I asked, where are you going to stay? Oh, no problem, was the reply, they would sleep in her friends brothers car because the fairgrounds officials never checked the parked cars. Even I did not do such disreputable deeds when I was her age. Add to that the fact that we have barely seen her since we got back, and it all makes for peeved parents. She wasnt home for supper last night because of a night class, and now shes gone again. This is the bird, preparing for departure from the nest. Harrumph!

Yesterday I went to the mall and bought a thank-you gift for our friends in Saguenay: a wide fish lifter for the barbecue and a tea ball. They did not possess the former, which caused some merriment around removing the salmon from the grill, and the latter is ready for the recycling bin. Today Hubby found a suitable box and I wrapped them up and we sent it off with a card thanking them for showing us such a good time.

Our Volvo has been at the garagistes since yesterday having the rust around the rear wheel wells fixed. We would have picked it up today, but the paint was still a little tacky and the mouldings had not been put back for that reason. So well remain a one-car family over the weekend and get it on Monday sometime.

Okay, Im tired and it looks like someones brought some good movies home to watch. Bye.
