Eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we diet!

There’s no such thing as a free lunch, and it would seem there isn’t going to be a white Christmas this year either. Ah well. Them’s the breaks.

We ripped, we tore, we didn’t do too badly in the gift department. The kids were spoiled, as they always are, Hubby was quite pleased with his humidity-detecting gizmo, I got a book, some Aretha CD’s and some DVD’s (one of which we watched this evening). The day was spent slaving over a hot stove, also a long soak in a bubble bath, chatting online, copying a couple of pages of music (two flutes and piano this time), and then eating a very fine meal consisting of egg drop soup (with a garlic broth), cauliflower cheese pie, green salad with grapefruit vinaigrette (Little Princess made that) and chocolate mousse (with a soupçon of orange liqueur) for dessert. Delicious, but not for the sufferer of high cholesterol. I counted up nine eggs total, plus all that butter and cheese. Still, it’s only once a year.

Tomorrow, or the day after, the diet starts.
