I’m getting better, really I am!

Ms. Piano and I rehearsed this afternoon. Even after last night’s debauchery, I sound really, really good. Okay, I missed a few high F’s in Der Hölle Rache (and we did rehearse that one a couple of times and it’s extremely tiring on the voice, especially one suffering from overconsumption of single-malt the night before), but everything else is fab. Really. I’m not making this up. I wish, how I wish, that I had sounded this good when it mattered, when I was still young enough to enter competitions. There are disadvantages to being a late bloomer. Sigh. Oh well.
