...and her words thunder across the land

The weatherman wins...again.

We ended up cancelling. The weather got worse and worse, from sleet and freezing rain to more snow, the university sent out an email to its employees telling them to go home an hour early, and the weatherman told everyone to stay home. The Duke called several times very concerned that we would get no one out on such a terrible night, and I finally conceded that he was right. So instead of singing songs of madness and despair, Hubby and I had a meal of leftovers, read Shakespeare sonnets by the fire (we really did, I’m not making that up), and did other things that don’t belong in a family blog. I called Ms. Piano whose boyfriend was taking her out for a gastronomically excessive dinner to console her for her loss, and we agreed that we would put it on in a couple of weeks, perhaps on Feb. 17 (that’s a Sunday night), and in the meantime we would run the programme several times from start to finish just to keep it up and increase our endurance. So all is not lost.
