Another month down the tubes.

It was not to be. First he had to turn my Finale score into a sound file in a different computer program. There were tons of things that shouldn’t have been there because I made my score look good, not sound good. When he finally got it in a form he was happy with, he took it to the university to put through the synthesizer there and burn onto a CD, except that he kept having problems.
The file was too big, the machinery kept breaking, the program kept crashing. It was one thing after another. He finally got two recordings that he was able to use, neither of which is “perfect”. There are pops and crackles and places where notes were left out, but it will be good enough to use as a practice tool.
The weather has been frigid and the wood stove not heating up the house enough. Even working in the attic, where it is warmest, I had to wear extra layers and fingerless gloves. However, yesterday as we sat freezing in the kitchen (the temperature in there was only 10°C) I saw a whole cavalcade of deer run through our backyard on their way to greener pastures. Good luck. There’s no greenery out there anywhere that I can see, except the pine and spruce needles. What do the poor critters eat at this time of year, anyway?
