Pesto

I think the smell of basil has permanently permeated my fingertips. Ten half-litre containers made it into the freezer before I ran out of pine nuts. There are still two bundles of washed basil in the fridge, so if I decide to use them I’ll need to shop for more supplies: olive oil, parmesan and pine nuts. On the other hand, there is still a ton of pesto from last year in the freezer, so maybe I won’t.

The evenings are cooling off, maples are already changing colour, school starts in two weeks. Why is summer so short?
